Preparing your body is crucial in order to have an effective cleanse. In the two days leading up to your cleanse we recommend removing alcohol, refined sugar, wheat, nicotine, caffeine, processed foods, dairy, meats and poultry from the diet. In their place, focus your diet primarily around soups, salads and steamed or raw vegetables. Also be sure to drink plenty of water! We can’t stress enough the important of staying hydrated before, during and after the cleansing process. A helpful tip for the mornings is replacing your coffee or other caffeinated beverages with an herbal tea or warm lemon water. Preparation is essential in all aspects of life, and cleansing is no different!

During

Once you’ve begun, there are a number of things to consider in order to ensure you are getting the most out of your cleanse.

  • Try to drink one juice every 2 hours
  • Consume a minimum of eight glasses of water
  • Tone down your typical workout routine. We recommend yoga, pilates or other light cardio.
  • Be sure to get plenty of rest
  • Consider going to a sauna. They’re great for relaxation and sweating out toxins.
  • Massages are also encouraged
  • Some may experience trouble with eliminating the toxins. We recommend using an herbal laxative or colonics to help with this issue.

We truly hope that everyone will experience an effortless and comfortable cleanse, however we understand that is not always the case. Some supplements you can consider include herbal tea, lemon water or also just adding another juice to the line-up. If you are still having trouble combating the hunger, try having some vegetable broth or apple and cucumber slices. Congrats on completing the cleanse! The hard part is over, so now let’s turn the focus to making the transition back to your whole foods diet. It is important to do this slowly so to ensure you stay on the healthy track and continue to feel those benefits from the cleanse. Begin by eating small meals comprised mainly of raw produce and lean grass-fed proteins. We also recommend consuming one cold pressed juice a day along with plenty of water. Can anyone do a juice cleanse?

Our cleanses are designed for almost anyone to enjoy. A cleanse is a perfect way to reset the body and get rid of all the nasty toxins we take in everyday. However, we don’t recommend a cleanse for children under the age of 18 and anyone who is pregnant, breast feeding, or those who suffer from certain medical conditions. Consult your health care provider if you have a medical condition, take medications or have specific questions related to your health.

Do our bodies cleanse naturally?

The answer is yes!  Our bodies are constantly cleansing to rid themselves of all the toxins associated with processed food, alcohol, sugar, pollution and chemicals.  However, sometimes the amount of toxins can be overwhelming.  A juice cleanse gives our digestive system a break, enabling us to focus the majority of the body’s energy on the detox process.

Is there protein in a cleanse?

There is definitely protein in a cleanse! It can be found in any of our green juices and also in our nut milks.

Will I lose weight on a cleanse?

We don’t promise weight loss only because that is not a primary function of a juice cleanse. The point is everyone’s body is different, so reactions to a juice cleanse will vary. The hope is our juice cleanse will encourage healthy eating and an active lifestyle, getting you to that ideal weight in no time!

Am I able to eat or drink while on the cleanse?

We recommend everyone stick to drinking only water and the juice while on a cleanse, but we also understand that is easier said than done. Our primary advice would be to listen to your bodies. If you are craving a drink other than the juice and water, just be sure to avoid alcohol, caffeine and carbonated beverages. Hot herbal tea is a great option, especially in the morning! You can always add another juice to the cleanse as well. If you feel the need to eat, keep it simple and try some vegetable broth or sliced cucumbers and apples. This won’t affect the detox process and will help to suppress the cravings.

Should I avoid exercise during a cleanse?

Absolutely not! There is no need to avoid exercise while on the cleanse. Our only recommendation would be to scale down your workout. You may not have as much energy during your cleanse, so take it easy and enjoy some light cardio or yoga.

Can I work while on a cleanse?

Other than food/beverage intake and exercise, anyone on a cleanse can go about their normal daily life. The cleanse should have no affect on your mental clarity, and if you feel yourself crashing just try an additional juice or some of the food options listed above for some added energy.

What is alkaline water?

In our constant strive to be healthy we sometimes overlook the simplest of things, like water! Our filtered water has a pH that is alkaline (7 or higher) which means it works to neutralize the acid in our bloodstream. By helping balance the acidity in our bodies, alkaline water relieves damage caused by stress, poor diet and air pollution. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference!

How many days should I cleanse for?

The length of your cleanse is solely up to and your health goals. A one or three day cleanse is great for those just starting out and new to the cleanse process. The five day cleanse is definitely a more intense experience and requires more of a commitment, but the results will be worth it! Just be sure you plan your cleanse around a time when you can make your body your top priority.

How often should I cleanse?

There is no right or wrong answer to this as it is completely up to you. Many people like to cleanse anywhere from one month to every three or six months. We especially recommend cleansing after those certain holidays when our diets get caught up in the celebration!
